ZKC NATCA President
Patrick James
I started my journey in ATC by joining the U.S Air Force in 1999 stationed at Columbus AFB, MS for 6 years, minus a 5-month deployment to Balad AB, Iraq. I was both a tower and RAPCON controller. I left the Air Force in June of 05′ and was hired by the FAA in Nov., arrived at ZKC in Feb, 2006, and CPC in 2007.
From 2011 – 2017 I was an area rep in the Rivers. I remained active in the local serving as a rep in various roles, and in 2022 I was elected to VP assuming my role in 2023. I had the pleasure of serving in that role under Todd Mariani as the Facrep and ARVP.
I look forward to meeting more of you around the region in the future. We are always stronger when we stand together shoulder to shoulder.

Mike Klein
I spent the beginning part of my ATC career in the US NAVY in 2000, stationed in Jacksonville, FL & Keflavik Iceland. Began my FAA career at ZKC in Aug. 2006, became CPC in 2009.,
I’ve served in many roles in NATCA such as Area Rep of Trails, scheduling, airspace, OSHA, & training rep. I’m proud to serve as your Vice President. If you ever need anything the door is always open.

NATCA’s Central (NCE) Regional Vice President since 2018, serving his 3rd term.
From ZKC, he worked in Trails & Ozark. He is local to Kansas City, but covers Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, & Nebraska.
